Dr. Mary Elizabeth Trent completed her 2000 plus-hour postdoctoral fellowship training at the Georgia State University Counseling Center in Atlanta and was granted her Georgia license in clinical psychology. She provides individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults as well as family and couple therapy in Athens, Georgia. In addition, Dr. Trent facilitates a state certified family violence intervention program. Her clinical interests include intimate partner violence, disordered eating and body image concerns, trauma and abuse and women’s issues.
Dr. Trent, originally from Memphis, TN, received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Washington State University, her masters of science from Western Washington University, and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She is a Certified Provider of Family Violence Intervention Programs in the state of Georgia, a member of the Georgia Psychological Association and American Psychological Association (APA).
